People have been fishing for over the last 40k years as a way of survival, competition, leisure, and now 3D printing enthusiasts and fishermen alike can choose a new form of their fishing lures.

Challenges of Printing Quality Lures

The idea of creating lures through FDM printing has shown to be an efficient way to produce something old from modern technology. Many of these 3D printed lures are quite simple like traditional ones, but more complex ones have proven to be a fun way to catch dinner in no time.

In 2015 BioSpawn "genetically engineered” some soft lures using 3D printed molds. The designer admitted using modern technology to create something with a great history of production had its difficulties, “The detail was amazing. We got consistent parts, and our iterative process moved along much faster. Better yet, we had prototypes we could test with accurate results.”
