5" Inch Egg Speakers (DIY kit)

DIY kit for the 5" Egg speakers Thingiverse project by dr_frost_dk.

All parts required available here! Easy to assemble. Single unit, make sure to order two for a full set!

If you do not own a 3D printer, keep in mind this is an experimental (and huge!) 3D printed product. The bottom side will not always turn out perfect, but you don't see this (at all) during normal use. Check the images for reference.

If you own a 3D printer and want to print the cabinet yourself, you can just get the speakers and tools. But make sure it fit's into the build volume of your machine. (230x230x300mm!). And be aware printing one takes 3 days and uses almost 1kg PLA, and even more if doesn't work from the beginning ;-)

You can also opt-in for the treble modification described in the project. But be aware that soldering and disassembly of the speaker unit itself is required.

    What is it?

The 5" inch version of the 3D printed egg speaker designed by dr_frost_dk (Heine Nielsen).

10% of your order's value will be donated to him. He's a great guy and I'm sure he will use it to invest in further projects like amplifiers or solar powered 3D printable cars.

You can also support him directly on Patreon.

    Why did you make it?

This egg speaker project was featured in the Make: magazine and wanted to build at least two pairs (for me & my dad)

I got a good deal on 20 of the Sioux CS 130 Pro speakers, so now selling the rest of them to spread the design of egg speakers (they sound really great!).
