Strange Bowl: 16 cylindrical shells by Matt_3dmodel

Model Description
3D model of dennedesigns
The models were repaired and checked for printability.

The area between y=x and y=x^2 is rotated about the line y=1.25. This creates a...Show more volume of revolution which looks a bit like a bowl, but with a conical interior and a big hole in the bottom. This volume is approximated by 16 cylindrical shells. Note that the 16th shell does not appear on the model since it has zero volume.

This model pairs with Strange Bowl: smooth & 16 washers and Strange Bowl: 16 washers.

This model was designed and printed by my WLU summer research student Ryan McDonnell ('17).

This object was first made on a MakerBot2X. However there were so many supports, that it was not a successful print. Instead we printed it on the FormLabs Form 1+ printer.

We used the grey color, and adjusted the suggested rotation of the object to minimize supports in the interior. (We ended up deleting three of them.)
