At first the parts were really rough on the surfaces. I've included a picture with a bastard file for comparison of the surfaces. After a week of back-and-forth, he did redo the parts. They are much smoother, but have some strange ripples and other blemishes on the surface. They still have rough edges and lots of bits of support material, but OK, I can sand them. I could maybe have prevented some of the problems by telling him the orientation used when I had similar parts printed in the past, although I didn't think there was a big secret to it. The parts don't seem quite as stiff as similar parts made with CF-PLA.
If you look at the examples for the shop's page, it's clear he can do some very nice work, and he did let me submit a last minute change to the file when I found mesh problems. But otherwise it's been an unpleasant experience, and I just want to get this over with and go elsewhere.
