Creator Pro 2 is a descendant of 2016 hit Creator Pro. Visually and structurally Pro 2 is extremely close to its ancestors. Though, there are a few new features that address previous issues.

Design

If you are new to the Creator line of FlashForge printers, here is a quick overview of its design. The machine has a plastic body. It comes with a door and a top cover, which can be removed – also from plastic. Despite that, there covers are capable to provide a full enclosure and stable temperature to the chamber, which is critical for working with sensitive materials like ABS and engineering filaments.

2 Extruders

Creator Pro 2 has 2 independent extruders, which can either work together to print in dual-material or run separately to print 2 objects on each side of the plate. Both extruders move separately on X-axis and don’t interfere with one another. Previously, there was an issue of filament leaking from an unused extruder. In Creator Pro 2 it is resolved by having 2 metal heads closing the nozzle and removing the excess filament, when it’s not printing.

For extruders, the machine allows to run a semi-auto calibration, while leveling of the bed is performed manually.

Other details

The machine comes with a textured cover for the build plate to help adhesion. It is similar in style to a Printec tape and can be damaged if poorly cared for.

A little questionable design move in this printer is that filament holders are located at the back of the machine. This doesn’t interfere with the printing process but can be inconvenient when placing your printer to the workshop.

Finally, the original slicer, FlashPrint, is a bit behind in comparison to open-source software from a third-party. It will be enough for newcomers but the lack of functions that other programs have limits its abilities.

Summary

Overall, Creator Pro 2 is a decent printer. It doesn’t have any super innovative features or an out of the box design. But it has something better – simplicity and stability. For its cost, the machine runs fine, really simple to maintain and work with, and it delivers good quality for both single and dual-material prints.
